Splenic infarction

55 year-old female known case of Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) presented with history of left hypochondrial pain.

Case Discussion

CT abdomen performed and demonstrates hepatosplenomegaly with abnormal heterogeneous attenuation of the spleen with peripheral, wedge shape low attenuation area suggestive of infarction. Enlarged para-aortic lymph nodes are also seen. The uterus is large for the patient age and demonstrate somewhat heterogenous enhancement, need to be further evaluated clinically and by US or MRI. Left sided sympathetic effusion is seen associated with atelectasis of the left lung base.
