Crescent-shaped left subdural hematoma.  The hematoma extends over the surface of the left cerebral hemisphere from the frontal to the occipital region. The blood is hyperintense on T1-weighted and on T2-weighted images, indicating the presence of extracellular methemoglobin.

Case Discussion

Subdural hemorrhage is the presence of blood between the dura and arachnoid mater of the meninges. Subdural hematoma with late subacute stage appears hyperintense on T1/T2 and FLAIR images due to the presence of methemoglobin.
