Presentation

First trimester heavy vaginal bleeding . Twin pregnancy Gestational age by LMP 11 weeks.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Acute left lateral crescent-shaped subchorionic hemorrhage (difficult to differentiate from the adjacent chorion).

After two days

ultrasound

Decreasing echogenicity of the collection.

After one week

ultrasound

Subacute subchorionic hemorrhage (decreasing echogenicity of the collection).

After two weeks

ultrasound

Hypoechoic left lateral crescent-shaped subchorionic hemorrhage (chronic stage).

After 19 days

ultrasound

Hypoechoic left lateral crescent-shaped subchorionic hemorrhage (chronic stage).

Case Discussion

The collection showed variable echotexture depending on the time elapsed since bleeding,

  • It was hyperechoic in the acute stage and may be difficult to differentiate from the adjacent chorion
  • Then it showed decreasing echogenicity with time
