Superior mesenteric and portal vein thrombosis

Gender: Male

ill defined smudging and stranding of the mesenterc fat, most evident around the superior mesenteric vein and its tributaries.

In the delayed images, a faint hypodense filling defect is seen within the distal end of the superior mesenteric vein (which appears relatively enlarged with ill defined borders) and the proximal end of the portal vein.
