Superior ophthalmic vein thrombosis

Presentation

Right eye swelling and pain since 10 days; fever; Visual blurring.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

Thrombosed right superior ophthalmic vein as compared to left one. Note the enhancing walls, and dilatation of the non-opacifying right superior ophthalmic vein. 

Case Discussion

This child with preseptal orbital cellulitis also developed thrombosis of the right superior ophthalmic vein without involvement of the cavernous sinus
