Supraspinatus tendon tear

Presentation

Jerk to shoulder 2 weeks ago. Complaining of pain and restricted movement.There was no fracture seen on shoulder radiograph.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years old
Gender: Male
ultrasound

There is full thickness fluid cleft from bursal to articular surface at insertion site of supraspinatus tendon. It involved near full width of tendon.

Infraspinatus, subscapularis and teres minor tendons - normal echopattern.

Biceps long head tendon - normal echopattern, normal position.

No bursal or joint effusion.

Supra and infraspinatus muscle bellies - no atrophy or volume loss.
