Incidental finding on imaging for trauma reasons.

Age: 35
Gender: Male

Ct Brain (selected images)

Small thin plate of fat density laying on the superior face of tentorium cerebelli.


MRI Brain (selected images)

Well defined fat lesion is again demonstrated on the tentorium cerebelli expressing high T1 and FLAIR signal.

Case Discussion

Intracranial lipomas are not tumors as such, but rather a result of abnormal differentiation of embryologic meninx primitiva. They represent a common benign incidental findings on brain imaging and generally can be ignored on reports.
