Thumb pulp swelling and pain for 1 week. History of trauma to wrist 6 weeks ago. Diabetic patient.

Patient was referred for USG to look for infection in thumb pulp.
Collection with mobile echoes is noted involving thumb pulp.
Large erosion of palmar cortex of distal phalanx of thumb.
Interphalangeal joint is normal.
Nail plate - nail bed is normal.

Xray for more conventional way to document bony erosion.
Erosion of distal phalanx of thumb is noted.
Case Discussion
Findings of thumb pulp abscess with secondary distal phalangeal osteomyelitis in a diabetic male patient.
Partial amputation was done.
