Tibial spiral fracture

Case contributed by Frank Gaillard
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Not weight-bearing following a fall.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
x-ray

AP and lateral views of the leg demonstrate a spiral fracture of the tibia. Note how difficult it is to see on AP projection: this is a good demonstration of why two views are required.
