Transforaminal cervical spine epidural nerve root injection

C7 radiculopathy on the left.

Patient Data

Age: 35-year-old
Gender: Male

Selected images demonstrating the tip of the 22G needle at the left C6/7 intervertebral foramina and then the confirmation of its location in the epidural space with a small amount of injected contrast.  

Case Discussion

Selected images illustrating the 22G needle position at the left C6/7 intervertebral foramina for a steroid injection. Dexamethasone and bupivacaine were injected.

The local anesthetic is used to confirm that the treatment is aiming the nerve causing the patient complains. In this case, the patient referred immediate improvement of the numbness symptoms in the left C7 territory.
