Transposition of the inferior vena cava

A single inferior vena cava (IVC) ascends from the left side and crosses anterior to the aorta at the level of the renal veins to further ascend to the right atrium at the right side.

Incidental transposition of inferior vena-cava (also known as left sided IVC) which is a variant course of the inferior vena cava. It is the most common anomaly of IVC and occurs due to persistence of left supracardinal vein.
