Follow up after radiofrequency ablation of hepatocellular carcinoma

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Early opacification of main portal vein without enhancement of the splenic or superior mesenteric vein suggesting development of A-V fistula. Successful ablation of subsegment VII focal lesion with no viable residual tissue.

Case Discussion

Arterio-portal fistula may occurs secondary to hepatic trauma or iatrogenic maneuver e.g. liver biopsy or due to malignant infiltration leading to transtumoral shunt.
