Trigeminal schwannoma recurrent / residual

Presentation

Operated case of left trigeminal schawannoma. Biopsy shows schawannoma. c/o Headache.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years old
Gender: Male

Postoperative status with left occipital craniotomy status is noted. Subtle gliosis is seen in the left cerebellum.

Well defined extra axial mass lesion is seen in the left cerebello-pontine angle cistern, left meckel’s cave and left cavernous sinus region. The lesion causes mass effect with compression over brainstem and adjacent left superior cerebellar hemisphere. The lesion is abutting the cavernous segment of left ICA with maintained flow void. 

 

Case Discussion

Well defined extra axial mass lesion in the left cerebello-pontine angles cistern, left meckel’s cave, left cavernous sinus. The image morphology, extension, mass effect and enhancement as described above, represent recurrent / residual neoplastic lesion.
