Four chamber view

The four chamber view shows left axis deviation.

LVOT/5CV

Fetal echocardiography of truncus arteriosus on the 5 chamber view. The 1st truncal branch is clearly seen coming off posterior to the large trunk.

RVOT/3vv and 3vt

ultrasound

A single large trunk is seen to be giving rise to the pulmonary arteries and aorta.

Case Discussion

In truncus arteriosus, a single common artery arises from the heart and supplies coronary, pulmonary and systemic circulation. This case demonstrates the typical findings of truncus arteriosus on standard fetal echo views.
