Tubal ectopic pregnancy

Presentation

Early pregnancy with pain since last few hours. No abdominal rigidity or tenderness on examination.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

On transvaginal scan, there is an oblong or elongated structure noted in the left adnexa representing fallopian tube with an ectopic pregnancy noted at the end of the tube appearing as a donut like structure with central anechoic gestational sac. The echogenic contents within the expanded fallopian tube are representing hematoma within the tube. Free fluid with mobile echoes noted in the cul-de-sac.

Anechoic to heteroechoic collection seen within the endometrial cavity with decidual cast surrounding it giving a pseudogestational sac appearance.

Case Discussion

A 30 year old with positive urine pregnancy test and lower abdominal pain, ultrasonography revealed tubal ectopic pregnancy with hematoma in the fallopian tube and anechoic to heteroechoic collection in the endometrial cavity. Intraoperatively tubal ectopic was confirmed and the patient underwent left salpingectomy by laparoscopy under GA.
