Tumor infiltration of the right pelvis

Case contributed by Andrew Lawson
Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Right hip pain. Known lymphoma patient.

Patient Data

Age: 60
Gender: Male

Focal T2 marrow signal abnormality within the right iliac blade and right sacral ala extending into the right iliacus muscle. The femoral head contours are preserved. Diffuse low signal in the proximal femori, femoral necks and left iliac blade consistent with a long-standing marrow sclerosis. Multiple enlarged left pelvic sidewall nodes extending along the left common iliac vessels towards the lower abdomen. The largest node in the pelvis measures 55 x 30 mm.

Comment The high signal change in the right iliac blade is consistent with tumor infiltration. The pelvic adenopathy is highly suggestive for lymphomatous/leukemic recurrence.
