Unilateral infarct in straight sinus thrombosis

Case Discussion

Thalamus and basal ganglia infarct on right side with thrombosis of straigth sinus.

Most often the thrombosis of straight sinus and internal cerebral veins invoves both thalami; rarely unilateral. Whenever there is unilateral involvement, right side, for unknown reasons, is more common.
