A left ureteric stent in proper position. The stent has pigtails at either end. Urolithiasis was observed also in the proximal segment of the left ureter.
Case Discussion
Relief of an obstructed kidney may be external with a percutaneous nephrostomy or internal with a ureteric stent. The stent may be placed in an antegrade fashion (typically by a radiologist) or in a retrograde manner (usually by a urologist).
