Presentation
Patient with cervical cancer. Assessment of hydronephrosis.
Patient Data
Double-J stent inserted due to ureteric invasion by cervix cancer.
The double-J stent is normal.
After 3 months, a CT was obtained.
The size of the cervical lesion has increased compared to previous study but there is no difference in terms of hydronephrosis.
The double-J stent was not seen on one CT slice at the level of the middle ureter. This suggests fracture of the double-J stent.
Normal double-J stent.
Double-J stent fracture.
Case Discussion
Sometimes localizer (scout) radiographs from CT may provide more information compared to the axial series, such as the assessment of catheter position and integrity.
