Vesicoureteric junction calculus

Transabdominal scan with distended urinary bladder shows left-sided mild hydronephrosis. However, a calculus could not be seen at the left vesicoureteric junction.
Transvaginal scan shows left vesicoureteric junction calculus measuring about 4 mm.
Case Discussion
A female patient presented with left-sided renal colic. There is a left vesicoureteric junction calculus detected by the transvaginal scan; which is the most common site of ureteric calculus.
This case shows the importance of one of the non-gynecologic applications of transvaginal ultrasound.
