Right basal ganglionic encephalomalacia with associated volume loss of the right cerebral peduncle and cerebral hemisphere and abnormal signal of gliosis seen at the right aspect of the pons, right crus cerebri, corona radiata and centrum semiovale corresponding to the corticospinal tract distribution.

Wallerian degeneration is the axonal degeneration following proximal nerve cell injury which could be as a result of infarction, hemorrhage or demyelination.
