Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis

Age: 12 years
Gender: Female

The left renal calyces are dilated giving a multloculated appearance that has been likened to the paw print of a bear (bear's paw sign) with staghron calculus. 

The left renal calyces are dilated with obstructing staghorn calculus. Normal enhancement of the renal cortex.


Done 20 minutes after the contrast CT abdomen

No execution by the left kidney with none visualization of the left ureter, the right side renal pelvis and ureter are normal. Staghorn left renal calculus is clearly visualized.
