Collage of cases depicting the four types of cerebral cavernous malformations, as classified by Zabramski in 1994, using T1 and T2 appearance 1.
Case Discussion
The four cases used are:
- type 1: Mostafa Mahmoud El Feky rID:42367
- type 2: Frank Gaillard rID:29400
- type 3: Frank Gaillard rID:13743
- type 4: Frank Gaillard rID:46171 *
Note, type type 4 case has no T1 image, so it has been borrowed from another case, and the "gradient echo" image is actually an SWI image, which strictly speaking is not correct; SWI was not around in 1994 and was thus not included in the classification.
