The lesions is somewhat atypical. The differential includes fibrous dysplasia and ossifying fibroma/fibroxanthoma of bone. 

Proximal femur fibroxanthoma is uncommon. Fibrous dysplasia can and does often look similar although the sclerotic border is less typical.
