Is there evidence of collapse?
Show Answer
Yes - there are a few signs. There is volume loss in the left hemithorax (mediastinal shift; elevated hemidiaphragm) and loss of definition with the mediastinum and cardiac border. The hemidiaphragm is still visible.
Any other concerning signs on this study?
There appears to be gas under the right hemidiaphragm. This could suggest bowel perforation or recent abdominal surgery.
Admitted with shortness of breath and fever. Added sounds in left chest.
