The oesophagus is displaced posteriorly and to the left side with mid oesophagal narrowing that doesn't persist all through the study suggesting external compression. The shadow of the enlarged left atrium is noted on oblique views. Also a large amount of contrast reflux at Trendelenburg position is noted.
On the control, AP view the subcarinal angle is splayed in keeping with left atrial enlargement.
