Splenic injuries are categorized in accordance with The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) splenic injury grading. The following points are used to classify splenic injuries.

• subcapsular hematoma
• intraparenchymal hemorrhage
• laceration depth
• hilar vascular injury
• shattered Spleen
