Ganglion cyst: calf

Discussion:

Ganglion cysts are locular or multilocular benign, masses filled with mucinous material. Ganglion cysts are commonly related to trauma and may arise from tendons, ligaments, bursae and joint capsules.

In this case the ganglion cyst was causing pressure on the superficial peroneal nerve resulting in a neurologic palsy.
