Floating teeth is a uncommon finding.  It describes teeth which appear suspended in air, as a result of body destruction of the mandible or maxilla.

Multiple pathologies can be responsible - in this case it resulted from a histologically proven alveolar carcinoma (an oral malignancy arising from the alveolar ridge).
