This patient had a history HIV/AIDS and was immunosuppressed with a CD4 count of 22 cells/mm³. The patient underwent bronchoscopy and Pneumocystis jiroveci DNA by PCR was positive.

The CT appearances of ground glass opacity and cysts are typical.
