Osteoid osteoma

Discussion:

An osteoid osteoma is a painful but benign tumor of bone. It typically occurs in adolescents and children and has characteristic appearances.

This entity is usually found in children and adolescents, with the vast majority of cases between 10-35 years of age. There is a predilection for males (M:F of ~2-4:1). It is relatively common, accounting for up to 10% of all benign bone lesions.
