Gallstone ileus

Discussion:

Gallstone ileus occurs in the setting of chronic cholecystitis or following multiple ERCPs. Risk increases with age.

Classical findings: small bowel obstruction, gas in biliary tree and large ectopic gallstone (Rigler triad). Other findings: collapsed gallbladder, gas in gallbladder.
