What support lines and tubes are in place, and where are they located?
There is an endotracheal tube within the trachea, with its tip situated above the carina. There is a nasogastric tube with its tip within the body of the stomach.
What are the findings?
Left hemidiaphragmatic rupture with herniation of the fundus of the stomach and superior pole of the spleen into the left hemithorax. Bilateral haemothoraces, much worse on the left, with associated left upper lobe collapse. There are multiple left sided rib fractures with an associated large left lateral chest wall haematoma.
NG tube within the body of the stomach. ETT situated above the carina.Multiple left sided rib fractures noted. There is a large haematoma extending along the postero-lateral aspect of the left chest wall.
The left hemidiaphragm is ruptured, with herniation of the stomach and spleen into the left hemithorax. Associated left upper lobe collapse and moderate left haemothorax. There is a small right sided pleural effusion.
