Immediately below the right amygdala, anterior to the right hippocampal head is a rounded irregular lesion with peripheral haemosiderin staining measuring 10 mm in diameter. Features are those of a cavernous malformation. There is no surrounding oedema to suggest recent haemorrhage.
The adjacent right hippocampus is normal with no convincing signal organised in all volume loss. The remainder of the brain is within limits with no evidence of grey matter heterotopia or cortical dysplasia.
Conclusion:
Right anterior mesial temporal lobe cavernous malformation. There is no evidence of recent haemorrhage.
