How would you describe the appearance of it?
There is an lesion with a hypodense, irregular centre and a thick hyperdense border. When contrast is given (the second scan) the border enhances.
What do you think this is likely to be?
Given this appearance and with the history of new-onset seizures, this is likely to be a brain tumour.
How will it be best investigated?
The patient should have an MRI and be discussed with neurosurgery who may plan a resection which could also give a pathological diagnosis.
Irregular hypodensity in left temporal lobe. Thickened hyperdense border which enhances with contrast. Some compression of lateral ventricle but no midline shift.
No haemorrhage or acute infarct. No extra-axial haemorrhage or collections. No bony injuries.
