Abdominal aortic aneurysm

Discussion:

Atherosclerosis usually causes fusiform aneurysm due to focal weakening of the aortic wall that involves the whole circumference. Complication of aneurysm include rupture, thrombosis and dissection. Aneurysms require surgical intervention if its caliber exceeds 6 cm or is associated with complications. Otherwise endovascular graft/stent is the best option.
