Internal carotid artery occlusion with embolic infarcts
MRI brain reveals mutlifocal hyperintensities in the left cerebral hemeisphere in the cortex and the subcortical white matter (T2/FLAIRsequences)
T2 axial images reveal loss of flow void of left ICA; however the left MCA flow void is well seen.
MR angiography reveals complete occlusion of the left internal carotid artery.
Final Diagnosis: Left internal carotid artery occlusion with embolic infarcts in left cerebral hemisphere.
