The above-described features are suggestive of infected intralobar pulmonary sequestration

Pulmonary sequestration commonly affects the lower lobes; 60% of intralobar sequestrations affect the left lower lobe, and 40% the right lower lobe with arterial supply from a branch of the aorta. Intralobar sequestration showed no separable pleural lining from the lung and venous drainage via pulmonary veins.
