Acute necrotizing toxoplasma encephalitis

Discussion:

The patient was referred from another hospital with a diagnosis of brain tumor. MRI brain was performed and presumed diagnosis of high grade glioma was made. The patient was scheduled for surgical resection, however, stereotactic biopsy revealed features consistent with necrotizing toxoplasma encephalitis.

Subsequently the patient was confirmed to have HIV/AIDS.
