Precaval accessory renal artery

Discussion:

Accessory renal artery is an important finding in a proposed renal donor.

Right accessory renal artery is a rare variant, usually arising inferior to the dominant (main) renal artery supplying the lower pole of the right kidney. There may be associated bifid renal moiety.

Normal morphology is the right renal / accessory renal artery passing deep to the inferior vena cava.
