Neuro UoE - Seizures

Imaging is performed in most patients with seizures. The initial reason to exclude any causes which need emergency treatment such as haemorrhages.

If there is a structural cause, most findings are apparent on MRI. Following dedicated epilepsy protocols, small changes can be found which can influence treatment.

Imaging plays an important role in investigating seizures.

It can give information on cause, consequences and treatment planning.
