Masticatory muscle hypertrophy

Discussion:

Facial and temporal pseudo masses were confirmed to be secondary to bilateral masseter and temporalis muscle hypertrophy further accentuated by the additional presence of parotid gland hypertrophy. In this instance, the medial and lateral pterygoid muscles are normal and uninvolved.

The 3D image alludes to the potential physiological appearance of an aggressive and /or angry person and the source of a potential "minotaur" syndrome.

The headaches may be due to a possible chronic bruxism and/ or due to the non-invasive right frontal sinusitis.
