Dacryocystocele - bilateral

Discussion:

Born at 39 weeks + 3 days gestational age, vaginal birth, APGAR scores normal. At birth, a bulge over the bridge of the nose with bluish discoloring was noted. Mild respiratory distress. Auscultation - rhonchi originating from the upper respiratory tract.

Ultrasound investigation demonstrated bilateral dacryocystocele. The right one was drained. After 2 weeks, a CT scan was done that showed bilateral dacryocystocele and ruled out a bony defect in the skull, i.e. meningo(encephalo)cele.
