Presentation

The patient slipped and fell followed by pain and swelling over the dorsum of the right foot, on examination: local tenderness and local swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
  • the fracture line transverses the base of the right 5th metatarsal bone, reaching the articular surface
  • degenerative changes with subluxation at the PIP joint of the right 2nd toe
