Presentation

Headache.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Well defined, oval shape, hyperdense lesion in the third ventricle, causes mild hydrocephalus.

A well-defined, ovoid space-occupying lesion in the third ventricle, appears hyperintense in T1W, heterogeneously hypointense in T2W, with central hypointensity surrounded by hyperintensity in FLAIR sequences.

It is not restricted in diffusion, and not enhanced in T1W post-contrast.

No significant blooming artifact in haemo product sequences.

Case Discussion

A cystic lesion in the third ventricle, hyperdense in CT, hyperintense in T1W, with relative reversal of signal in T2W, causes hydrocephalus, suggestive colloid cyst.
