Presentation
Abdominal pain for one month, and a polyploid lesion in the second duodenal portion on endoscopy.
Patient Data
There is an intraluminal cystic lesion in the duodenal second portion with the cyst wall similar to the duodenal wall. There is no sign of obstruction.
On upper EUS, a thick wall cystic lesion found on the medial wall of the second portion of the duodenum, highly suggestive of a duodenal duplication cyst.
Case Discussion
Duodenal web, hydatid cyst, cystic neoplasms, lymphangioma, choledochocele are in the differential diagnosis. Like the duodenal wall, the thick wall favours a duplication cyst and against hydatid or lymphangioma—normal ampulla and the papillary region against the choledochocele. The smooth wall and lack of solid or enhancing components are against cystic neoplasm.
