A 1.9 x 1.9 x 1.8 cm abnormal precontrast hyperdense ectopically located thyroid tissue at the base of the tongue. No presence of thyroid tissue at paratracheal region of normal thyroid.
Case Discussion
A rare congenital anomaly which occurs due to an arrest of caudal migration of thyroid gland from foramen caecum to thyroid bed. It has female predilection. Its most common location is the base of the tongue.
