A focal defect in the left inguinal region is lateral to the inferior epigastric artery, with herniation of a small bowel loop through it. The proximal small bowel loops are mildly dilated, and the small bowel loops distal to the herniation are collapsed. Bowel wall enhancement appears normal. Minimal fluid is seen in the herniated sac and lower abdomen on the right side.
Case Discussion
Findings are suggestive of obstructed left indirect inguinal hernia with small bowel obstruction and no evidence of bowel wall ischaemia/gangrene.
