Faecal incontinence

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

There are no abnormally dilated loops of bowel. Moderate amount of faecal residue in the right colon. There is no evidence of free intraperitoneal gas or fluid. There is thickening of the ileopectineal line in the right hemipelvis along with cortical thickening and prominent trabeculations. The findings here are consistent with Paget disease. There is loss of vertebral height of L2 in keeping with a compression fracture of undetermined age.

Case Discussion

Incidental finding of Paget disease in the hemipelvis on the right. Thickening of the ileopectineal line is an early and sensitive finding.
