Pancreatic head adenocarcinoma

Presentation

Work up for abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

There is a 25 mm ill-defined slightly low enhancing mass in the pancreatic head.
Additionally, there is an 18 mm hypodense (12 HU) well-defined lesion in the head of the pancreas. 

Intra and extrahepatic bile ducts are dilated moderately. Pancreatic duct is also dilated.
There is a 24 × 25mm hypoenhancing mass lesion at pancreatic head without evidence of vascular invasion. Additionally an 18 mm cyst is also seen at pancreas head.
There are two T2W hypersignal focus at liver (8 mm at 4th and 6 mm at 3rd hepatic segments). After contrast injection, they show delayed enhancement.
Gallbladder distended and contains some sludge.
There are a few small cortical cysts in the kidneys.

Case Discussion

This patient underwent tissue exam and histopathology evaluation confirmed pancreatic head adenocarcinoma. Whipple surgery was performed for the patient.
